One of the topics that has most caught my attention is the power of storytelling, how stories transform us individually and socially. For this reason, in the academic field, I have focused mainly on two areas of social research: fandom studies and podcast studies.
Fan studies focus on analyzing the audience as prosumers, who not only consume cultural products but also create content. That is why, among my researchers, I analyzed the fandoms of Floricienta, Supernatural, Superwholock, among others.
Audio drama has historically been an art form and cultural product that developed in most countries. However, during the 1960s and 1970s, few countries continued to produce audio dramas. However, in 2004, with the creation of podcasts, audio drama had a second chance within mainstream culture. In this regard, within the field of podcast studies, I have analyzed the collaborative networks of independent audio drama creators in podcasting, and what industrialization and professionalization mean for them.
